What are the main precautions in the process of zinc alloy die casting

Sep -18 -2020

In the zinc alloy die-casting process, if you want to die-cast high-quality zinc alloy die-casting parts, you must pay attention to the following points.

1. Temperature: the recommended furnace temperature for zinc alloy: 415-430℃, the upper limit of the die-casting temperature for thin-walled parts and complex zinc alloys can be taken, but should not exceed 430℃. The higher the furnace temperature, the greater the amount of slag. From the naked eye, it can be observed from the following three aspects:

1.1. If the melt is not too viscous and clear after scraping the slag, and the slagging is not fast, it means that the temperature is appropriate.

1.2. If the melt is too viscous, the temperature is low.

1.3. After scraping the slag, a layer of hoar frost appears on the liquid surface quickly, and the zinc liquid becomes red and the slag rises too fast, indicating that the temperature is too high and should be adjusted in time.

2. The temperature in the furnace can be controlled from the following 4 aspects in the die casting process:

2.1. There is an error between the actual temperature of the die-casting machine and the furnace display. The temperature of the furnace should be checked regularly with a portable thermometer.

2.2. Conditional central smelting furnace and die-casting machine furnace are used as holding furnaces to avoid large temperature changes when the zinc ingot is directly added to the zinc pot to melt. Concentrated smelting can ensure the stability of the alloy composition. Or adopt advanced metal liquid automatic feeding system, which can maintain stable feeding speed, alloy liquid temperature and zinc pot liquid level.

2.3. If the material is added directly in the zinc pot, it is recommended to add the whole alloy ingot at one time to multiple small alloy ingots, which can reduce the temperature change caused by the addition.

2.4. The zinc alloy ingot needs to be preheated.

3. During the die-casting process, the use of peripheral tools: iron crucibles are not allowed, and iron operating tools are not allowed to contact the alloy liquid. Stainless steel spoons should be used to avoid the adverse effects of iron impurities in the zinc alloy liquid.

The above 3 points are the matters that must be paid attention to in the process of die-casting zinc alloy. Only by controlling the temperature in the furnace within an appropriate range can the quality of zinc alloy die-castings be guaranteed, and high-quality zinc alloy die-castings can be die-casted. .
